Pakistan has condemned the US drone attacks near Miranshah, North Waziristan where the country forces have launched a massive military operation against the local and foreign militants. "The government of Pakistan condemns the two incidents of US drone strikes that took place near Miranshah in North Waziristan during the early hours of Wednesday", said Foreign Office spokesperson Tasnim Aslam.
She said that Pakistan has been made clear on earlier occasions also that it regards such strikes as a violation of its sovereignty and territorial integrity. "These strikes also have a negative impact on the government's efforts to bring peace and stability in Pakistan and the region", she added. The US resumed the drone strikes last week in Pakistan's tribal areas, especially in North Waziristan which it has suspended last year reportedly on Pakistan's request due to the government's peace talks with the militants.
