KP Chief Minister Pervez Khattak has reiterated his demand to bring the Gas Infrastructure Development Cess (GIDC) imposed in the Federal budget 2014-15 to the same level prior to the federal budget. He said government will take all such issues with center at forum of CCI if not resolved amicably earlier.
He was talking to a group of industrialists led by Mohsin Aziz, Vice Chairman Board of Investment & Trade (BOIT) at his office CM Secretariat Peshawar.
The industrialists expressed grave concern on increase GIDC by federal government and requested the Chief Minister to use his good office for saving the local industrialists. They lamented that such increase besides haring interests of the KP business community, will rather sabotage the policy of provincial government to provide cheap gas electricity to the local factor units to create attraction for speedy industrialisation and explore job opportunities for youth in the province.
Pervez Khattak said provincial government has already rejected increase in the GIDC imposed in the federal budget and had termed it a forced injustice to the progress of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa which is in the quagmire of multi faceted challenges.
