The Karachi Port handled 93,867 tonnes of cargo comprising 79,549 tonnes of import cargo and 14,318 tonnes of export cargo including 5,969 loaded and empty containers during the last 24 hours ending at 0700 hours on Tuesday. The total import cargo of 79,549 tonnes comprised of 53,107 tonnes of containerised cargo; 21,092 tonnes of coal and 5,350 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargo of 14,318 tonnes comprised of 11,921 tonnes of containerised cargo; 15 tonnes of general cargo; 382 tonnes of cement and 2,000 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo. As many as 5,969 containers comprising 3,337 containers import and 2,632 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Tuesday.
The breakup of imported containers shows 1,550 of 20's and 858 40's loaded while 31 of 20's and 20 of 40's empty containers, whereas that of exported containers shows 403 of 20's and 51 of 40's loaded containers while 617 of 20's and 755 of 40's empty containers were handled during the business hours. There was one ship namely Sea Charming oil tanker sailed out to sea during the reported period. There was one vessel viz. Hanjin Scarlet carrying containers currently at the berths.
There were five ships namely MOL Distinction, Hanjin Scarlet, APL Chicago, Oriental Emerald and Outrivaling-1 carrying containers and oil tankers sailed out to sea on Tuesday, while two ships namely ACX Crystal and Filia Glory carrying containers and coal respectively are expected to sail on Wednesday. There were two vessels viz. ACX Crystal and YM Eminence carrying containers respectively due to arrive on Tuesday, while four vessels viz. PAC Aries, Ever Pearl, Chemroute Sky and YA Karim-K carrying containers, oil tankers respectively are due to arrive on Wednesday.

PORT QASIM
A cargo volume of 43,800 tonnes comprising 37,479 tonnes of import cargo and 6,321 tonnes of export cargo inclusive 1,467 loaded and empty containers (TEUs) was handled at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours on Tuesday.
The total import cargo of 37,479 tonnes includes 12,993 tonnes of furnace oil and 24,486 tonnes of containerised cargo. The total export cargo includes 6,321 tonnes of containerised cargo. There were two ships namely CV MSC Panama and CV Hurst Point with containers sailed out sea on Tuesday morning, while another ship namely CV ACX Crystal with containers is expected to sail on the same day afternoon.
A total number of five vessels viz. CV MSC Panama, CV Safmarin Ngami, MV Iolocos Legacy, MT Quetta and MT Chemroad Jakarta currently occupied berths to load/offload containers, diesel oil, furnace oil and edible oil respectively during the last 24 hours. As many as seven ships namely ACX Crystal, Najran, Sealand New York, Birzo, Izumo Princess, Feng Hai-32 and Al-Soor-II with containers, furnace oil, edible oil and diesel oil are currently at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim.
There were five vessels with containers, furnace oil and edible oil took berths at Qasim International Containers Terminal, FOTCO Oil Terminal and Liquid Cargo Terminal respectively on Monday. There are three ships namely CV ACX Crystal, CV Najran, CV Sealand New York with containers due to arrive on Tuesday.
