The City police on Friday claimed to have arrested around 74 alleged criminals in different targeted raids and encounters conducted at various parts of the provincial metropolis during last 24 hours. Police said 79 raids and four encounters were carried out as part of the on-going Karachi operation led to the arrests of 74 criminals who were allegedly involved in various criminal activities.
During the operations police arrested 26 criminals under the Arms Act. Nine were arrested under the Narcotics Act, 12 absconders, one dacoit, two extortionists, and two proclaimed offenders (POs) and some 21 others involved in different criminal activities. Police said they have recovered 27 hand-guns, one hand grenade and 3.4kgs of Hashish from the possession of the criminals.
