In holy month of Ramazan, the demand of dates has increased manifolds in twin cities of Islamabad and Rawalpindi. Owing to the demand, small vendors have set up date's stalls at various places in the twin cities to facilitate the citizens, while shopkeepers have also displayed multiple varieties of dates in their shops.
The shopkeepers while talking to APP said that there was an obvious increase in the demand of dates of good quality as every person spends open-heartedly on fruit and dates in Ramazan.
They said that the citizens buy dates in large quantities during the holy month of Ramazan as compared to other months of the year.
Residents at different markets of the twin cities said that some of the date's sellers did not display rate lists and mint higher prices due to the increase in the demand. They called for action against the profiteers to ensure the sale of dates on fixed rates.
