Since the laptops and PCs are advancing, ASUS too has unveiled new type of laptops including a dual-screen one and another one that features a screen instead of the touchpad.

The largest computing show in Asia, Computex 2018 kicked off on June 5, and will continue till June 9, where many companies including Intel, Acer and ASUS among others showed off their new inventions. Among them were ASUS’ ‘Project Precog’ and ‘ZenBook Pro’.

ASUS’ Project Precog concept computer is a thin dual-screen PC with AI features. The company claims the laptop to be smart enough for optimizing battery charging depending on the time of the day, receive Excel suggestions while the user is working on a document, and use Intel’s Movidius visual processing unit to detect where user’s hands are at all times, reported Engadget.

Lenovo might introduce laptop with flexible, foldable display

The laptop can be used in a traditional laptop mode, where the bottom screen will double as a keyboard, it can be used as a tent formation, as a book, or even can be folded around as a tablet. By laying it entirely flat, the laptop can be used for playing games across both screens. Not only this, it can also act as a semi-desktop replacement.

As per CNET, the laptop will have face and voice recognition, and stylus compatibility. Precog will have adaptive input that will detect if there is no mouse or keyboard and will provide virtual ones. It can also anticipate users’ meetings and conserve battery accordingly. The company plans to release the laptop by next year.

Secondly, ASUS’ new ZenBook Pro features a secondary display in place of the usual touchpad, called ‘ScreenPad’, a 5.5-inch touchscreen that can even run its own apps. The laptop has 4K UHD, Pantone-validated display, Core i5, i7, i9, and ability to hook up to external graphics card. The laptop is more intended for video editors, designers, and programmers, as it also features an ASUS Pen.

For the ScreenPad, the user would have the option to switch from general touchpad mode to ScreenPad. Apps including calculator, digital numeric keypad, calendar, and music player are integrated in the ScreenPad. User can also sync the ScreenPad as a way to use their smartphone instead of desktop. There is no word when the ZenBook Pro will be available.
