Police claimed to have killed two alleged dacoits in an encounter here on Thursday. According to police sources, two alleged robbers were shot and killed by police during an encounter conducted near Akhtar Colony, main Korangi road in the jurisdiction of defence police station.
Police said that the encounter took place when the dacoits fleeing after snatching a vehicle from Gizri area. When they reached at 'Defence Mor' police team intercepted them and tried to arrest them. Seeing the police, they opened fire on police party. Two dacoits were gunned down by police in retaliatory firing. Police said that a passer-by was also injured in this incident. The bodies and injured were moved to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Center (JPMC) for Medico-legal formalities and treatment. "The robbers were affiliated with a car lifting group," said an official in Defence police station. Arms were also recovered from their possession, he added. The identities of the deceased were yet to be ascertained.
in another case, Kamran,40 , son of Ranadan was shot and injured by unidentified dacoits when he offered resistance during a robbery incident in North Karachi, Sector-5. He was rushed to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital (ASH) for medical assistance. A tortured body of man named Hanif, 40, son of Bilal was found in Mehmoodabad. A man was shot and injured by unidentified persons near Northeren Bypass, Musharaf Colony, Baldia Town.
