Chief of Jamaat-e-Islami (JI), Siraj-ul-Haq, has said that `Political Barhamins' are holding the entire nation hostage for the last 66 years. Speaking at an "Awami Iftar Party" organized by the Jamaat's District South at Lyari's Kakri ground here on Thursday, he said that JI message was to get close with Allah, so that the country could be put on the track of progress and development in all fields of life.
"Courts of Pakistan do not follow the Islamic Constitution," he said, adding that the merit is being ignored in the country. The JI chief further said that the Pakistan since its independence was facing threat from its own rulers and leaders, adding that the political and economic terrorism is being continued in Lyari. He demanded of the government to send back the IDPs back to their native towns and arrange transport for them, as the security forces claimed 80 per cent clearance of the affected areas.
Terming the Protection of Pakistan Ordinance (PPO) `a black law', he said that this law was totally an unjustified and unlawful. Jamaat-e-Islami has already challenged the PPO in Supreme Court and hoped that the apex court would consider the JI's plea in this regard.
He also appealed the leaders of different political and religious parties to come forward and play their due role in opposing the PPO. The JI chief also appealed the Muslim Ummah to stand with the people of Palestine against the Israeli aggression. On the occasion, Siraj-ul-Haq informed that the JI will initiate countrywide campaign for bringing Islamic revolution in the country.
JI Karachi Chief Hafiz Naeem said that the western powers were hatching conspiracy to create unrest in Muslim countries, adding that the silence of United Nations and Organization of Islamic Countries (OIC) over the barbarism of Israel on Gaza was a big question mark.
