Peshawar, Special Branch Canine Unit: IGP awards police personnel for arresting killers, dacoits
KP Inspector General of Police (IGP) Nasir Khan Durrani has awarded personnel of Peshawar and Special Branch Canine Unit police for arresting the target killers, dacoits and recovering arms and explosive in a ceremony held at CPO Peshawar on Monday.
According to details Chamkani police had arrested two accused who kidnapped and murdered a house wife, took away five tola gold and Rs 10,000 in a dacoity incident. The arrested accused confessed their crime in court while the Bhana Mari police had gunned down the terrorist involved in firing on a police party at Ring Road.
Similarly the Khazana police arrested a target killer namely Khalil Ullah in an encounter involved in firing on SHO on duty. While the Special Branch K9 unit Dog handlers were able to detect and recover weapons including LMG, one bomb, three grenade, one hand grenade, 2kg explosive, three detonators and three IEDs in search operation in Regi. While addressing the function, the IGP informed that protection of life, honour and property is the prime responsibility of police and added that it is matter of great satisfaction that police is not only chasing the outlaws but was also getting continuous success against such elements.
He highly praised the professional commitment and bravery of the awardees specially the Canine Unit and urged them to remain alert. The police officers and jawans awarded on this occasion included ASI Chankani police station Shakeel Khan, SHO Khazana Sub Inspector (SI) Mohammad Ibrahim, Constables Tariq Rahim and Zubair Khan, ASI Bhana Mari Mohammad Saeed, Constables Mutabar, Amir Niaz and Special Brach Canine Unit's constables Sherzaman and Abdul Qadeer.
