Administrator Karachi Rauf Akhtar Farooqui said media has gained much importance now due to its power in our society; it is like a mirror to us through which we get to serve our city in a better way. Problems facing by Karachi city could be solved easily if its inhabitants "own" their city. He expressed these views while addressing as chief guest at the Iftar dinner held by KMC Officers Welfare Association in honour of the journalists and members of KMC Officers Welfare Association (KMCOWA).
Metropolitan Commissioner Sajjad Hussain Abbasi and other KMC officers also attended the program with the members of media community. Appreciating the role of media in the progress and development of the city, Administrator Karachi said these have provided a friendly working environment through providing valuable guidance for the solution of civic problems. The people are always informed about the uplift projects which are being carried out in Karachi to provide better civic facilities to citizens and to raise their standard of living.
He said the formation of KMCOWA is a good step and it should be expanded further so that its members and their families could avail maximum facilities here. Speaking on this occasion, the President of KMCQWA Muhammad Rehan Khan and General Secretary Mazhar Khan thanked the Administrator, Metropolitan Commissioner, media representatives and members of KMCOWA to attend the Iftar dinner.-PR
