City police on Saturday claimed to have arrested around 213 alleged criminals in different targeted raids and encounters conducted in various parts of the metropolis during last 24 hours. Police said that 70 raids and three encounters carried out as a part of Karachi operation led to the arrest of 213 criminals who were allegedly involved in various criminal activities.
According to police, 14 criminals were arrested under Arms Act, 11 under Narcotics Act, three absconders, two dacoits and one murderer. Besides, 182 more people, who were allegedly involved in criminal activities, were also apprehended in the last 24 hours, they said, adding that 16 guns and 4,465 grams of hashish was recovered from their possession.
