Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Chief Altaf Hussain has appealed Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif to adopt meaningful means to end political differences among political parties in order to save the country. In a statement, he stated that the prime minister should understand the gravity of the situation.
Hussain's statement came in a time when Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf has announced to launch long-march on August 14 against irregularities in the general election of 2013. Similarly, Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) also announced to declare revolution day in August and formally to be made public on Sunday. He added that the country is going through a difficult juncture of history; therefore, any kind of confrontation is unaffordable.
He said a constitutional way should be adopted to resolve the issues maintaining sanctity of all parties. He said if there is a fear of clashes or damages during protest demonstrations and long-march, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif should announce to leave the office and nominate new Prime Minister from his own party.
