Last Crown Prince of the former state of Swat and former Governor, KP and Balochistan, Prince Miangul Aurangzeb has been passed away. He was 86. The funeral prayers of late Miangul Aurangzeb were offered at Saidu Sharif, Swat. Besides, Advisor to Prime Minister, Engineer Amir Muqaam, legislators, political and social personalities, officials of the civil administration also attended funeral prayers. He was suffering from illness for last two years.
Late Prince Miangul Aurangzeb was born on May 28, 1928 in the house of the former ruler of the State of Swat, Miangul Abdul Haq Jehanzeb in Saidu Sharif. He got commissioned in FF 11 Regiment of Pakistan Army in 1948. He had also served as an ADC to former President, Chief Martial Law Administrator (CMLA), Late General Ayub Khan. He also married with a daughter of General Ayub Khan. From 1956 to 1958, he also represented the State of Swat in the National Assembly of West Pakistan and on the ending of martial law he was elected as Member of National Assembly. He once again elected MNA in 1977 and also in 1985. In the general elections of 1993-1997, he elected on the ticket of PML-N. However, in the same year, he was appointed as Governor Balochistan and as Governor KP in 1999. In 2002, he quit from active politics. After that he along with family shifted to Islamabad.
