Additional Inspector General (AIG) of Police Headquarters Mohammad Asif said in the war against terror every Jawan of the force is emulating the footprints of Shaheed Safwat Ghayur. This he said while talking to media persons on the eve of the fourth death anniversary of Shaheed Safwat Ghayur at his grave in Peshawar on Tuesday.
The Additional IGP informed that Shaheed Safwat Ghayur led the force from the front in a very volatile and difficult situation in an extra ordinary brave and courageous manner and put an effective end to the growing menace of terrorism. In fact, he fought the war shoulder to shoulder with his soldiers against the terrorists and established an unprecedented example of committed and professional officer of the force, remarked the Additional IGP and added that Shaheed Safwat Ghayur took his duty as worship and sacrificed his precious life in line of duty which has no parallel in the history of police.
The Additional IGP maintained that Shaheed Safwat Ghayur was an "ideal officer" of all the jawan of the force and every one is following in his footprints in line of duty and that's why every jawan has become a stumbling block against the terrorists and so far no jawan has shown retreat or abandoned the duty points or check posts. He remained that it is commitment of every jawan of the force to go to every extreme like Safwat Ghayur to defeat the terrorists.
Mian Asif revealed that every jawan of the force prefers to embrace martyrdom for bringing peace and tranquillity and removing darkness and injustices from the society. He also informed that efforts are going on for bringing more incentives for police Shuhadda. He said a directory and more books will be published on the role and achievements of police Shuhadda and Ghazis in the war against terror. A separate corner has been established in the new block of Central Police Office in which names along with photos of the police Shuhadda will be inscribed, he added. Earlier, a smart contingent of police presented police salute at the grave of Shaheed Safwat Ghayur.
