The United States on Wednesday said it supports civilian democratic governance in Pakistan and has taken no position on Opposition parties marches planned for Independence Day. "We don't have any position on the planned marches," State Department spokesperson Marie Hard said when asked about the PTI's march on Thursday, the Independence Day of Pakistan. She explained that the United States stands strongly in favour of a democratically elected civilian government but also respects people's right to assemble.
