To promote agricultural related tourism in Pakistan, Agri Tourism Development Corporation is holding a one-day training workshop on "growing organic vegetables at home" on August 24, at Gatwala Forest Park near Faisalabad. The workshop is being held to mark the 'World Kitchen Garden Day'. World Kitchen Garden Day marked each year on the last Sunday of August.
It is an opportunity for people around the world to gather in their gardens with friends, family, and members of their local communities to celebrate the multiple pleasures and benefits of home-grown, hand-made foods. Agri Tourism Development Corporation's Founder and Chief Executive Tariq Tanveer while talking to Business Recorder here on Thursday said that goals of celebrating this day is to celebrate the positive role of organic kitchen gardening in society, health and gastronomy and to create awareness about the benefits of eating local and to encourage people to explore local food options in the area. Tariq said that the corporation had invited four known resource persons across Pakistan to conduct the one-day training workshop for growing organic vegetables at home.
