Chief Minister of Sindh, Syed Qaim Ali Shah, on Thursday said political acumen was needed by relevant politicians to settle the impasse witnessed in part of the country. Talking to media persons, after attending the flag hoisting ceremony at Mazar-e-Quaid-e-Azam, he said grievances of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf ought to be settled through talks as Pakistan itself was achieved after a long political struggle.
In reply to a question, he said every political party has the right to register its protest but this must never surpass the constitutional limits. "The option of dialogue must always be applied," said the chief minister. Shah said Pakistan has been achieved through great sacrifices of the Muslims of South Asia complimented by political acumen of Quaid-e-Azam and every party needed to strictly abide by the constitution of the country.
He said it was high time that people and their leaders take into strong consideration the cardinal principles of Unity, Faith and Discipline -followed and frequently reiterated by Father of the Nation, Mohammad Ali Jinnah.
He said Sindh has emerged to be a province where due to concerted efforts, in accordance to a healthy approach of Asif Ali Zardari and Altaf Hussain, unity is witnessed among the inhabitants of the province. "This is crucial for development and prosperity of the masses," he said. The Chief Minister said his party and its allies have managed to retain the public confidence who have voted them for a second term in 2013.
The chief minister said efforts to improve the living standards of people had begun during the previous tenure and shall be achieved before completion of the current term. Syed Qaim Ali Shah said that hustle and bustle witnessed in markets and other public places even beyond mid night on eve of Eid and even today on eve of Independence Day supported his claim that public confidence has been restored and they are no more scared to come out of their houses in late hours.
