Police arrest gangster plotting to kill Salman Khan
The Indian police have apprehended a suspect, Sampat Nehra, who was allegedly plotting with notorious gangster Lawrence Bishnoi to kill Salman Khan.
Earlier in January, Bishnoi had issued an open threat to kill the Bollywood superstar, months after which he sent his trusted man Nehra to survey Khan’s residence at Galaxy Apartments and his movements. Bishnoi had allegedly asked Nehra to keep an eye on the star in order to plan an attack on him
According to Indian media reports, Hyderabad police arrested Nehra, who is a sharpshooter, employed by Lawrence's gang and was working on the plan of killing the actor. After the recent incident, security has been increased for the ‘Race 3’ star.
Haryana Special Task Force Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Satheesh Balan said, “Salman Khan was on the gang’s hit-list and Nehra alone had been assigned to execute the operation. He went to Mumbai for two days and clicked photographs, took note of the actor’s movement around the balcony and house in Galaxy Apartment, possibly to gauge the distance and weaponry required”.
However, Bishnoi is currently in Bharatpur jail in Rajasthan. “Bishnoi is running the network from jail and has been in touch with Nehra and other aides through mobile phones,” the DIG said.
He added that the police suspected that Bishnoi’s gang, which uses social media and Whatsapp for its operations, receives funding from abroad. His motive was reported to be to teach Jodhpur Police a lesson whom he feels has falsely indicted him in a murder case.
