Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has said that attack on the highest state institutions like Parliament and Prime Minister House in Islamabad last night would be termed as the blackest day in the political history of the country. He said that some so-called political leaders attacked the buildings and highest institutions of the country by violating law and the constitution and tried to occupy them which is highly condemnable.
He said that due to the sagacity of Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, the country was saved from a big tragedy and the attackers could not achieve their target.
He was talking to assembly members here on Sunday. Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif said that the so-called politicians, desirous of doing politics of dead bodies, had to face disappointment. He said that after the incident of Saturday, it does not behove enemies of development and democracy in the country to talk about democracy.
What law of the world or ethics allow attack on Parliament and Prime Minister House, he questioned.
He said that these so-called politicians, marching towards these buildings which symbolize constitution and security of the country used women and children as shield. The Chief Minister said that after this step, Imran Khan has lost sympathies of majority of his supporters. He said that Imran Khan and Tahir-ul-Qadri want to make Pakistan a battlefield like some other Islamic countries but people of Pakistan have seen their intentions. Shahbaz Sharif appealed to PML-N workers, supporters and voters to show restraint and despite all provocations should not show any reaction. He said that enemies of Pakistan want to destroy peace in the country but the PML-N will never allow their designs to succeed.
He said that He said that Imran Khan at some stage will have to answer why at a time when negotiations were reaching the final stage took extreme step and asked his supporters to attack state institutions. He said that the PML-N leadership has never left its supporters and youth alone in any situation.
