Taiwan stocks edge lower

Taiwan stocks fell 0.66 percent in morning trade on Tuesday, largely in line with other regional bourses as further uncertainties over Europe's economic situation kept investors skittish. As of 0155 GMT, the main TAIEX index was down 62.91 points at 9,450.15, after closing up 0.81 percent on Monday.
A number of regional markets, including the Korea KE Kospi Index and MSCI's broadest index of Asia-Pacific shares outside Japan fell on Tuesday, as investors awaited new steps from the European Central Bank to revive Europe's stubbornly weak economy. Among major subindexes, both electronics and semiconductors fell 0.86 percent. Autos remained flat after the sector reported it saw healthy growth in August, according to local media. The Taiwan dollar was up T$0.084 to stand at T$29.884 to the US dollar.
