Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif visited flood affected areas of Jhang and Toba Tek Singh districts on Tuesday and reviewed the flood situation as well as relief activities. He also met flood-hit people in relief camps. The CM directed to accelerate relief activities. Addressing the flood-hit people, Shahbaz said that Punjab government has provided record funds for relief operation. He said that every penny of public money will be spent on resolving the problems of the distressed people and they will not be left alone at this moment.
He said that government is utilising maximum resources to provide relief to the flood-hit people. He assured the flood affectees that not only their losses will be compensated but their houses will also be constructed and the first instalment of compensation will be made before Eid.
Shahbaz also visited affected areas of Chund Bharwana and Garh Maharaja of Jhang. He said that fertilizer and seeds will also be provided to the flood-hit people free of cost. He also visited Shorkot and inspected relief camp. The administration gave briefing to him about relief activities. Shahbaz directed the administration to further accelerate relief activities and work hard for providing maximum relief to the victims. Shahbaz also visited flood-hit areas of Tehsil Pir Mehal of Toba Tek Singh and visited relief camps in the adjacent village of Mai Safuran. He said that Rs 100 million have been provided to each affected district for providing relief to the affectees.
