Taiwan stocks were up Thursday following US and overseas markets higher. As of 0143 GMT, the main TAIEX index rose 18.99 points to 9,117.48, after closing up 0.15 percent on Wednesday. Gains were mostly broad-based. The electronics sub-index was up 0.3 percent, while the financials sub-index was 0.1 percent higher. Taiwan's central bank, at its quarterly meeting scheduled for later Thursday, is widely expected to keep policy rates unchanged for the 13th consecutive quarter. The Taiwan dollar was down T$0.017 to stand at T$30.265 to the US dollar.
