Former Prime Minister and Pakistan People's Party leader Raja Pervaiz Ashraf has termed the demand of mid-term elections legal and constitutional. "We are 100 percent sure that general elections2013 were rigged in Punjab. We supported the Parliament for its supremacy. We will always support democracy in the country," Raja Pervaiz Ashraf said while addressing a news conference on Saturday after meeting with party leaders from South Punjab.
Pervaiz Ashraf said the politics of PPP is in the interest of the country. Answering a question, he said that it is the responsibility of the government to hold dialogues with Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) to end their protest sit-ins amicably, adding that people are facing an uncertain situation. According to sources, a meeting was held at PPP Secretariat in which party leaders of South Punjab participated and discussed NA-149 by-election along with reservations of party workers from Punjab.
