Pakistan Tahreek-e-Insaf Chief Imran Khan said that he would not compromise on Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif resignation as the ongoing sit-in is for the rights of the nation. Addressing the participants of sit-in here on Sunday, he said that he would not leave container and Constitution Avenue unless Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif resigns, as the nation has awakened and is not ready to accept Mian Nawaz Saharif's fake mandate. People are making sacrifices for those who have been deprived of their rights and have lost their lives during this movement.
Imran Khan said that no nation become great without sacrifices and this was also evident from the creation of Pakistan when thousands of people had rendered great sacrifices to have an independent country under the leadership of Quaid-eAzam Muhammad Ali Jinnah.
He said that Muslim sacrifice animal on Eid-ul-Azha for the blessing of Allah Almighty and the people of sit-in are making sacrifices for the oppressed. He said that great leaders in the history have made sacrifices for the nation and for the deprived people and not for stuffing their own pockets. The PTI chief assured the participants of sit-in that their sacrifice for the oppressed people in the society would not go waste. He said that the country is facing immense problems and half of the population is below the age of 25 and the country needs honest leadership to deal with the challenges. He said that over 180 billion tons coal and billion of rupees copper resources are available in the country. He said that the country has the capacity to generate hydel electricity especially in Khyber Pakhtunkhaw and Northern Areas, which remain untapped due to leadership crisis. We have been unable to utilise these resources due to incompetent leadership of the country. He said that in 'New Pakistan' 100 million people would be steered out of poverty and supremacy of law to be established. He said that if we will bring rich people under the law then others themselves would follow the suit. He said that we will bring emergency in the education.
The PTI workers also celebrated the 62nd birthday of PTI chief Imran Khan.
Earlier, Scuffle started among Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) workers at on-going sit-ins avenue D-Chock Islamabad during distribution of Eid gifts on Sunday.
Chaos was seen among the PTI activists during gift distribution. They exchanged harsh language; fist-fights, heated arguments and snatching of gifts were also witnessed at the sight of the sit-in.
The ladies' wing of PTI was distributing gifts including clothes among the party supporters when the crowd turned unruly resulting in a violent clash. The party workers in an attempt to snatch gifts, attacked each other with clubs and chairs. However, some sit-in participants also broke down the chairs.
In the violent clash that erupted at the sit-in, the women distributing gifts were also injured. According to PTI supporters, the women wing was distributing gifts among certain selective people while neglecting others which led to a conflict. The PTI activists also tried to stop media from covering the brawl.
