Capital police on Sunday intercepted Awami Muslim League's (AML) Chairman Sheikh Rashid's vehicle near Islamabad's Convention Centre. The AML chief's vehicle was intercepted by the police while he was on his way to D-Chowk, carrying some decorative items to the venue of PTI's sit-in, in connection with birthday celebrations of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf's Chairman Imran Khan.
Talking to media, Rashid said that he was not even carrying any edible items, but only some decoration stuff. He alleged that the capital police unduly stopped him near Islamabad's Red Zone on the orders of higher authorities.
Expressing his resentment, Rashid, who is an ally of Imran Khan, said that he is making efforts to make it to Khan's birthday celebration at the PTI's sit-in camp.
