Speaker National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Saddiq has given two more weeks to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) for verification of their resignations, it is learnt. According to sources, three more lawmakers of PTI did not appear on Tuesday in the office of the Speaker National Assembly for verification of their resignations. The Speaker National Assembly had invited them for verification of their resignations.
The sources said the Speaker had invited Shafqat Mehmood, Amjad Ali Khan and Rai Hassan Nawaz, but they did not appear. They said that the first phase of resignations' verification will be completed today (Wednesday). In light of these developments, the Speaker National Assembly has decided to extend the time for two more weeks. After the end of extended time, Speaker will discuss the matter with constitutional and legal experts to reach a decision.
