Partly Facetious: The container politics is in abeyance
"So who is happy with whom?"
"Personally I am very happy, the sun is out, it's neither too hot nor too cold in Islamabad, the birds are singing."
"What about the container politics?"
"The container politics is in abeyance".
"I am not familiar with that particular usage of the word abeyance. I mean growing up in Pakistan I know of the constitution being in abeyance but not container politics."
"Hey, you belong to the old generation -you didn't grow up with container politics which is how our politics has evolved - the opposition lives in containers and the government places them all over to stop a dharna/jalsa."
"So container politics is the same as democratic politics!"
"Don't know what you mean by that! The leader - and I mean The Leader and not his second tier lieutenants - is the one who attracts the vote and therefore what he or she says goes."
"Interesting, so is Bilawal the leader or a lieutenant? Is Maryam Nawaz and Hamza Shahbaz leaders or lieutenants?"
"Whatever Bilawal's Urdu accent may be, he is respectful of his father which means walking the walk."
"Hey, it's more like talking the talk."
"OK, but the Sharif family scions are at a level lower than Bilawal and the reason should be evident to you."
"Bilawal is much more educated and speaks better English that the Sharif scions?"
"Nope."
"He is the party chairman while the Sharif scions have no such designation."
"Not quite."
"Bilawal Bhutto Zardari is taller than the Sharif scions."
You mean figuratively or literally?"
"Both actually - Bilawal can bring in the votes my friend while the Sharif clan will have to rely on Nawaz Sharif to bring in the votes."
"Precisely - political inheritance is about pragmatism."
"Indeed, as it is in all democracies but in South Asian politics dynastic politics does have a role."
"Yep, take that Khan and smoke it."
"Khan doesn't smoke - and that's why he isn't playing ball."
"He should eat shabdegh..."
"Not fond of food."
"I see the problem."
