"Technical Education and Vocational Training Authority (Tevta) will train its 2,237 in-service male and female teachers during current financial year to enhance the professional skills of teachers. It is in line with the policy of Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif to upgrade the professional skills of teachers because their enhanced teaching talent would be reflected in the skills of the trainees."
It was stated by Chairperson Tevta Irfan Qaiser Shaikh while addressing the staff of Government Staff Training College Gulberg during his visit. Chief Operating Officer Tevta Jawad Ahmed Qureshi and other officers of Tevta were also present on this occasion.
Irfan Qaiser Shaikh said that Tevta teachers will be trained in 152 batches. Training of 85 batches will be conducted at Government Staff Training College at Lahore, Faisalabad and Murree while 67 in Tevta institutes with relevant facilities. Chairperson TEVTA further said that 3,047 male and female Tevta teachers had been trained during last financial year through its different teachers training programmes. During 2014-15, teachers will be trained in new demand driven courses, he added.
He said they will be given training in IT, Web designing, call centre training, software programming, electronics, mobile repairing, TV and AC repairing and servicing, baking and confectionery, Rice processing, nursing, house keeping etc. Tevta, as per requirement of new curricula, has arranged training of its teachers in different industrial organisations, he concluded.
