Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan has asked Jamaat-i-Islami (JI) chief Siraj-ul-Haq to clarify his position whether his party stands by Nawaz Shairf or PTI. Addressing his party workers at D-Chowk sit-in here on Thursday, he urged the JI Amir to take a decision whether he wanted to stand by PTI or PML-N.
He said that all the political parties including JI had termed the general elections as rigged, however it was beyond his comprehension why they were not demanding vote audit and investigation.
PTI chief questioned the JI chief if his party wanted imposition of Islamic laws in the country then why JI was not with PTI in its struggle against elections rigging. He advised JI chief not to play on both sides of the wicket, and waste time in dialogue as they (PTI) would stage sit-in till the resignation of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.
He said that the JI had denied the alleged statement attributed to Sirajul Haq wherein he termed PTI and PML-N as two sides of the same coin. He said that he had no regret for JI as they were their allies in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government.
Imran said that the JI Amir had forgotten that how many corruption cases had been registered against Nawaz Sharif and Asif Ali Zardari by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB).
He warned the Prime Minister that a big storm was coming on November 30 to hit the federal capital and warned against using police against his workers.
Imran Khan said that the government of Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto in 1977 was toppled after rigging in the general election. " There was massive rigging in the general election 2013 as compared to 1977 elections, as about 60 to 70 thousand votes cast in the 2013 election in each constituency is unverifiable," he said.
He said that Nawaz Sharif in connivance with Asif Ali Zardari and former Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry carried out historical rigging in the general elections. "We exercised all legal ways to get justice but no to avail. So we were left with no option but to stage protest demonstration for getting justice, if anyone consider it as undemocratic they have no knowledge of democracy," he said.
PTI chief said that his party 79-days peaceful sit-in against rigging in the general elections proved that Pakistani nation could fight for their rights and against this illegitimate parliament.
