The country provisionally received foreign inflows of over $819 million in the current fiscal year against $713 million during the same period last financial year, it is learnt. The government had budgeted foreign assistance of $7.4 billion, including $6.5 billion loans and $808.3 million grants against $5.7 billion budget estimates for the previous year. The country received over $700 million loans and about $113 million grants out of the total budget estimates of foreign assistance amounting to $7.4 billion during the current fiscal year.
Sources revealed that the country received about $179 million from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) during the current fiscal year while a total of $1.092 billion has been budgeted from the Bank for the current financial year. China has disbursed about $315 million out of $1.462 billion budgeted for the current fiscal year. The International Development Association (IDA) disbursed $52.5 million for the country out of $1.66 billion budget estimates for financial year 2014-15.
The IDB (S-Term) disbursed $147 million out of $500 million budgeted for financial year 2014-15. Germany budgeted to disburse $52.61 million during the current year and Pakistan received $17.6 million in the current fiscal year. The country received $92 million from United Kingdom against budgeted amount of $246 million, Japan disbursed about $15 million during this period against the budget estimates of $255.39 million for the year while Korea disbursed $7.5 million and Kuwait disbursed $4.05 million.
The United States of America (US) disbursed $15.56 million to Pakistan in the current fiscal year out of the total $357.5 million budget estimates for the current fiscal year 2014-15. Saudi Arabia disbursed $87.88 million against the estimate budget of $245.7 million, and the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD) disbursed $19.6 million against $204.31 million.
The government has budgeted more than $1.5 billion from Australia, Canada, EU, France, Global Alliance for Vaccines and Immunization (GAVI), Italy, Norway, Oman, Opec, UNDP, bond holder and consortium of commercial banks for the current fiscal year 2014-15; however no disbursements have been made under these heads so far, sources added.
