Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Sardar Mahtab Ahmad Khan has reminded the countrymen that "indeed, while coming across the critical state of circumstances in the present scenario, there is a need to maintain complete unity, fraternity and cohesion in our ranks and files and spare no effort for ensuring stability; strength, development and prosperity of the country and well being of the coming generations, which also is the best way to pay homage to the martyrs of Karbala."
He was delivering a message on the eve of Ashura being observed today. The complete text of the message is given below: "Ashura-e-Muharram, the sacred occasion of the Islamic history, is observed to pay homage to the martyrs of Karbala. The immortal sacrifices offered by Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA) and His companions to upheld the supreme cause of righteousness have made the occasion memorable for ever.
Every aspect and dimension of this historic sacred occasion, offers comprehensive lesson that serves as a source of guidance, strength and courage in all hours of trials or tyranny. On this auspicious occasion, I take this opportunity to remind the countrymen in general and the people of KP and FATA in particular to be conscious of the ground realities which we are facing and be responsive to their role and contribution as responsible citizen of the beloved motherland.
