Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Thursday has announced the national cricket squad for the approaching three-match Test series against New Zealand and retained the same 16 men squad for the first Test that registered 2-0 Test victory against Australia, recently. Pakistan won the two-Test series against Australia 2-0, their first win against their opponents in 20 years.

According to the spokesman of PCB, the winning squad against the Australian team has been selected. Chairman PCB Shaharyar M. Khan has approved the 16-member squad for the first Test against New Zealand, following recommendations by the five-member selection committee headed by former captain Moin Khan.
There is no change to the side that won the Abu Dhabi Test against Australia. "This is to ensure there is consistency, which will bring more stability and strengthen team bonding and combination," said chief selector Moin Khan. "We're proud of Team Pakistan's achievement in the series against Australia, which has been acclaimed locally and internationally. It was a heroic performance, led by the experienced duo of Younis Khan and Misbah-ul-Haq, admirably supported by the youngsters, and good training by the support staff led, including Waqar Younis, Grant Flower and Mushtaq Ahmed, Shahid Aslam, Brad Robbinson and Grant Luden," Moin Khan said, adding: "But we need to put this success behind us for the moment and switch our focus on the series against New Zealand. It will be a fresh start and will need to keep the momentum going. Obviously, this is another opportunity for the youngsters to test and hone their skills in international cricket against a highly talented side like New Zealand."

The first Test against New Zealand is commencing on Sunday (November 9) at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium, Abu Dhabi. The second Test will be played at Dubai from 17th while third and final Test will be played at Sharjah from 26th of this month.
Both teams will also play two T20 international matches on 4th and 5th of next month respectively and later the five ODIs and the team for these matches will be announced later. Misbah-ul-Haq will lead the team. The remaining players are: Ahmed Shehzad, Asad Shafiq, Azhar Ali, Ehsan Adil, Haris Sohail, Imran Khan, Mohammad Hafeez, Mohammad Talha, Rahat Ali, Sarfraz Ahmed (wicketkeeper), Shan Masood, Taufeeq Umar, Yasir Shah, Younis Khan and Zulfiqar Babar.
