Pakistan Tanners Association (PTA) Chairman Muhammad Musaddiq has hailed Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif's decision to stop countrywide loadshedding of electricity for the industries. The PTA Chairman, in a statement on Wednesday, termed the decision friendly for leather industry of Pakistan and especially for the Punjab-based industry.
He said leather is a continuous process chemical industry which needs uninterrupted supply of power and gas throughout the year otherwise precious raw stocks may perish in the absence of power. The Prime Minister of Pakistan, Minister of Power and other high-ups of his Ministry deserves appreciation on this realistic and daring initiative. Leather industry is also looking for Prime Minister's attention for allowing gas for the leather processing industry like textile industry, though consumption is much less than textiles.
