NAECH, FECHS: National Assembly Deputy Speaker for strict observance of joint venture contract
Deputy Speaker, National Assembly Murtaza Javed Abbasi has directed for strict observance of the joint venture contract between National Assembly Employees Co-operative Housing Society (NAECHS) and Federal Employees Co-operative Housing Society (FECHS).
He out rightly rejected the demand of the FECHS for enhancement of the prices of plots being provided to the employees of National Assembly. He was chairing a meeting of the National Assembly Committee on House and Library in Parliament House here on Thursday. While discussing the status of implementation of the joint venture contract between FECHS and NAECHS, he observed for strict adherence to the contract in question. He observed that any amendment in the actual contract may be decided by the elected body of the NAECHS.
The demand of enhancement of the prices of plots was raised by the management of FECHS in view of increase in land prices and development charges. The Deputy Speaker said that Committee on House and Library was duty bound to protect the interests of the Employees of the Secretariat who had deposited their hard earned money with the Housing Society. He said that in the instant case plots to the Members should be handed over at the earliest who have already deposited full payment. Taking strict view of the delay in construction of additional family suites, directed the CDA to expedite the pace of construction work keeping in view the accommodation problems of members of the Parliament.
The Chairman CDA apprised the committee about the delay in construction work. He said that work on the site has been halted due to the protest by a political party. The Deputy Speaker also directed for investigation into the matter pertaining to the use of substandard material in renovation of Cafeteria in Parliament Lodges.-PR
