The city police on Thursday claimed to have arrested 105 alleged criminals in different targeted raids and encounters conducted at various parts of the metropolis during last 24 hours. According to police sources, they have conducted some 97 targeted raids and seven encounters as part of ongoing Karachi operation that led the arrests of 52 alleged criminals involved in different criminal activities.
During the operation, the police arrested some 16 criminals under Arms Act, 22 were arrested under Narcotics Act, 10 absconders, two dacoits, four terrorists, and some 47 others involved in criminal activities were also arrested during the said time period. The police further claimed to have recovered 25 pistols, three hand grenades, one repeater, two bottles of liqueur, 5115-gram hashish, and 20-gram heroin from their possession.
