Kenya ordered a probe on Thursday after more than 12,000 fake names were found on the government payrolls and then struck off. The fictitious names were discovered after the introduction of biometric registration of government employees in September. "Cabinet directed immediate investigations following revelations...there were in excess of 12,000 staff who were unaccounted for," a cabinet statement read.
