Equities moved both the ways but finally closed in positive column at the Lahore Stock Exchange (LSE) amid ascending transaction volume on Monday. The LSE-25 index marginally improved by 0.74 points and was closed at 5326.58 points against 5325.84 points of last Friday, while transaction volume increased to 01.977 million shares, as compared to volume of 01.003 million shares traded on previous working day.
According to brokers, the market players are showing a cautious approach and are opting for picking the available margins. They are not taking any fresh positions. Honda Atlas Cars (Pak) Limited, Treet Corporation Limited, MCB Bank, SNGPL, SSGC, PIA, Atlas Insurance Limited, Allied Bank Limited (ABL), Summit Bank Limited and K-Electric Limited resisted pressure and registered gains while Engro Fertilizers Limited, Atlas Battery Limited, Hascol Petroleum Limited, Pakistan Petroleum Limited, D G Khan Cement, Maple Leaf Cement, Glaxo Smith Kline Pakistan Limited, Bank Alfalah Limited, Dewan Farooq Motors Limited and Crescent Steel and Allied Products Limited suffered losses and closed in minus column. The losers were ahead with the gainers, as out of a total of 94 companies, 12 showed strength and were closed in green zone, 22 suffered losses, while 60 companies stayed unchanged at their previous levels.
Among the gainers, Honda Atlas Cars (Pak) Limited gained Rs 6.50, Treet Corporation Limited was improved by Rs 2.26, MCB Bank was appreciated by Rs 1.81, while SNGPL, SSGC, PIA, Atlas Insurance Limited, Allied Bank Limited (ABL), Summit Bank Limited and K-Electric Limited Rs 1.21, paisa-60, paisa-48, paisa-10, paisa-09, paisa-05 and paisa-04, respectively.
Among the losers, Engro Fertilizers Limited shed Rs 2.95, Atlas Battery Limited was declined by Rs 2.48, Hascol Petroleum Limited lost Rs 2.00, while Pakistan Petroleum Limited, D.G. Khan Cement, Maple Leaf Cement, Glaxo Smith Kline Pakistan Limited, Bank Alfalah Limited, Dewan Farooq Motors Limited and Crescent Steel and Allied Products Limited were down by Rs 1.54, Rs 1.20, Rs 1.08, paisa-85, paisa-40, paisa-30 and paisa-26, respectively.
