Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has said that Pakistan Muslim League-N government, led by Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, has proved its public-friendly attitude through substantial decrease in the power tariff.
"The government has won the hearts of the people by reducing prices of petroleum products twice in a month and now through decreasing price of electricity. Provision of relief to the people is the agenda of PML-N government and it will continue to take measures for the welfare of the masses in future as well," he said this while talking to assembly members of various districts, here on Friday. Elected representatives informed the Chief Minister that the pace of implementation of development schemes and welfare programmes in their respective areas.
Shahbaz Sharif said service to the people was the mission of PML-N and billions of rupees were being spent on the projects aimed at provision of relief to the masses. He said reduction in the prices of petroleum products had given relief to the people in the real sense and now substantial decrease in power tariff would also benefit the citizens.
The CM said that recent politics of chaos had caused huge loss to national economy and the whole nation was grieved at the meaningless protest politics and wanted a responsible attitude from the politicians. He said unity and spirit of sacrifice was the need of the hour, adding it was time to rise above personal and party interests and strive for progress and prosperity of the masses.
He said the elements indulging in politics of anarchy should know that PML-N would live and die with the people of Pakistan, adding that no one would be allowed to hamper the process of national development and prosperity. He said that 180 million people of the country wanted progress and development of Pakistan and would never forgive those who were tarnishing the image of Pakistan and causing economic loss to the country through protest and negative politics. Shahbaz said people of Pakistan had given mandate to PML-N to serve the masses and it would come up to their expectation and continue to take measures for provision of relief to the common man.
