Provincial Minister for Labour and Human Resources, Raja Ashfaq Sarwar has said that Punjab government is following all labour conventions of ILO for benefiting from GSP-Plus status so that not only confidence of employees and employers could be restored but use of Pakistani products and workforce could also be increased in international market.
He expressed these views at a briefing given by Punjab Labour Department during meeting with Ambassador of Denmark in Pakistan Jesper Moller Sorensen at Punjab Employees Social Security Institution. Members Provincial Assembly Sardar Ramesh Singh Arora, Saira Iftikhar, Secretary Labour & Commissioner Social Security Ishrat Ali as well as senior officers of Labour Department were also present on the occasion.
Secretary Labour Ishrat Ali while apprising Danish Ambassador of the steps taken by Labour Department for benefiting from GSP Plus status said that Labour Department is working for the welfare of labourers, enforcement of international labour standards, ensuring protection of labourers at workplace and making important legislation in this regard.
