The country imported mobile phones worth $282.872 million during July-November 2014-15, up by 6.15 percent against the import during the same period in 2013-14, official figures said. The mobile handsets import posted an increase of $16.401 million during July-November 2014-15 as compared to the import of $266.471 million in July-November 2013-14, Pakistan Bureau of Statistics said. In November 2014, the handset import surged by $9.375 million (19.17 percent) to $58.278 million from $48.903 million in November 2013.
Import of other apparatuses went up by $94.145 million (36 percent) to $352.619 million in July-November 2014-15 from $258.474 million in July-November 2013-14.
In November 2014, import of other apparatuses shot up by $7.027 million (12.24 percent) to $64.458 million from $57.431 million in November 2013.
Overall import of telecom goods mounted to $635.709 million in July-November 2014-15 from $524.945 million in July-November 2013-14, up by $110.764 million (21.10 percent).
In November 2014, import of other apparatuses grew by $16.402 million (15.42 percent) to $122.736 million from $106.334 million in November 2013, the figures say.
