Chief of Jamaat-i-Islami (JI) Siraj-ul-Haq on Wednesday blamed the US for subduing the world through its coercive policies, saying that the global conspiracies were responsible for unrest in Muslim countries. Speaking at the Rehmat-ul-Aalameen Conference, which the JI held at a local hotel, he said "the conspiracies have triggered wars in 13 countries of Islamic world," and criticised the US for its military adventures across the world to establish its rule.
He told the conference participants that the world peace and prosperity could take place only through Shariat rule. "Only through this system [Shariat] minorities could be protected and criminals could be brought to justice," he said. He also urged the public to adopt the path of Islam to attain prosperity and peace in the society. "Only Islamic Pakistan could become a prosperous Pakistan," he asserted, saying "Islam advocates peace and tranquillity in the society."
Extolling Prophet Muhammad [PBUH), he said, "The Prophet of Islam fought for the rights of weak in the society and ensured rights of women, children, poor, neighbours and orphans," adding that Muslims should follow the teachings of Islam to establish tranquillity and harmony in the society. He said the Muslim nations could regain past glory and prosperity if they follow the path of Islam with dedication. "We have to ensure that our judicial, economic and political systems are based on Islamic teachings," he added.
JI chief blamed the social and economic degradation of the country for being deviant to the teachings of Islam and following the western world as a slave. "We have deviated from the teachings of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) as a result we are facing economic and social problems," he said, urging the society to stick to righteousness and shun the path of evil. Allama Pir Syed Azmat Ali Hamdani, Mufit Muhammad Zubair and JI Karachi Chief Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman also spoke at the conference.
