Punjab University Department of Zoology's Professor Dr Muhammad Naeem Khan has been awarded with Financial Assistance Award by United Nations' Food and Agriculture Organisation (UN-FAO) worth 2000 dollars to present his research paper in Italy. Dr Khan will present his research paper entitled "Decline in Freshwater Natural Resources and future of Inland Fisheries and Aquaculture: Threatened Livelihood and Food Security in Indus Valley, Pakistan" in the forthcoming UN-FAO conference to be held in Rome, Italy from January 25-28, 2015.
The conference will be a high visibility international event organised by FAO to discuss inland fisheries management and research, water management and use, food security and nutrition and international development efforts. It is worth mentioning that Dr Khan will be representing Pakistan in the conference as the winner of FAO Financial Assistance Award 2015.
