A spokesman of K-Electric has clarified a story titled 'bogus billing' carried by Business Recorder on January 6. According to KE, as per the details during KE's survey and inspection of energy meters in October last year, the K-Electric official detected 'Light Directly used from Main', which in simple terms means that this was a theft case which is on record. Notices of Section 20 and Section 39 were delivered to the consumer but the consumer blatantly refused to sign.
This negates the perception which is being created that the consumer was not present on his premise, which holds no truth. An IRB was then later issued which consumer disputed before Nepra which is why K-Electric, as per the regulations, has set aside the disputed amount until there is a verdict on this case from Nepra's end.
