Pakistan Tanners Association and University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS) Lahore have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to control skin diseases among the ruminants. UVAS Vice Chancellor Dr Talal Naseer Pasha and Chairman Hide and Skin Sub Committee of the Pakistan Tanners Association Agha Saiddain signed the MoU on behalf of their respective organisations while Governor Punjab Chaudhry Muhammad Server and Chairman Pakistan Tanners Association Muhammad Musaddiq were also present on the occasion.
This is the Second University/Industry Research Project between the two organisations. The first project" Prevalence and Identification of Pathological Conditions Causing Skin Damages and Consequently Reducing Its Market Value In Ruminations Of Punjab" was conducted few year before and both have agreed to move forward and make joint study as how to control these diseases to avoid economic loss which is about 18 percent of total value of hides and shins in Pakistan.
