Members of Christian community strongly condemned the printing of blasphemous cartoons of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) in French magazine. The community expressed its anger over the publication of blasphemous caricature during a joint press conference organised by Diocese of Pakistan, Church of Peshawar, Christian community from KPK and Fata, Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf minorities wing at press club here on Sunday.
Bishop of Peshawar, Humphrey Sarfaz Peter, Pastors Shahzad, Patrick, John William, Rashid, Altaf and others were also present in the press conference.
The community slammed the latest publication of caricatures as a total disregard to the sentiments and feelings of Muslims around the world.
They added that such insulting drawings harm the relations among followers of the three monotheistic religions by fuelling feelings of anger, hatred and resentment.
They asked French Government and Charlie Hebdo to respect Muslims' sentiments and abstain from provocation.
They denounced the growing wave of Islamophobia and hostility against Muslims in Western countries.
