Opposition Leader in Senate Aitzaz Ahsan has issued a white paper on alleged election rigging in NA-124 at a press conference on Monday. It may be noted that his wife Bushra Aitzaz had contested 11 May 2013 elections against Sheikh Roheel Asghar of Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N).
Aitzaz Ahsan accused that the inspection of 264 bags had proven that elections were rigged at a large scale. He said the documents of 10 polling stations were unrelated to the election as 53 out of 82 sealed bags did not contain form-14 whereas 57 bags were lacking form-15. The counter files of 34 bags were destroyed, he said and added that only 227 certificates were verified of which, only 12 were objected by the opposite candidate.
The PPP stalwart urged the Prime Minister to face a debate regarding the proofs of alleged rigging. Someone allegedly formulated the results and gave them to the returning officers, he said. He has also demanded a Judicial Commission to carry out an investigation after the results of rigging. Speaking on the occasion, former information minister Qamar Zaman Kaira said that the PPP had no plans of toppling the PML-N government. However, bringing facts on record was their prerogative.
