The Lahore High Court Bar Association (LHCBA) has demanded the government to approach the international court of justice against publication of blasphemous cartoons. The house adopting a unanimous resolution here on Monday also asked the government to call a meeting of Organisation of Islamic Countries to chalk out strategy for protection the prestige and respect for last Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him).
The members of LHCBA also observed token strike. They only attended the urgent matter and then kept themselves away from courts proceedings. The general house meeting was chaired by Bar President Shahfqat Mahmood Chohan. Those who addressed the Bar Members included Vice President Aamir Jalil Siddiqui, Secretary Mian Muhammad Ahmad Chachar, Finance Secretary Mian Muhammad Iqbal, Syed Faiz Ahmad Sherazi, Allah Bakhsh Gondal and others.
The speakers said Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) gave the lesson of love and equality and practically proved it. They said to make and publish blasphemous material against such a person was not any service to the humanity or any country, adding every one should respect the religious sentiments of others.
