Production of cars and trucks increased in first half of FY15

Production and sale of cars, trucks and tractors have increased in the first half of FY 2014-15 as compared to the corresponding period of 2013-14. According to statistics released by the Pakistan Automotive Manufacturers Association(PAMA), production of 1300 and above cc cars, namely Honda Civic, Honda City, Toyota Corolla, Suzuki Liana, Suzuki Swift increased from 25,950 units to 32,667 units from July to December 2014.
Production of 100 cc cars, Suzuki Cultus, Suzuki Wagon increased from 7652 units to 8,869 units during this period. Similarly, production of 800 cc and below cars, Suzuki Mehran, Suzuki Bolan increased from 52,751 units in first six months of 2013-14 to 62,490 units during FY 2014-15. Production of trucks, Hino, Nissan, Master, Isuzu increased from 1,064 to 1,765 units. Rolling out of tractors, Fiat, Millat (Massey Ferguson and Orient IMT) tractor increased from 18,387 to 24,143 units.
