An unknown gunman on Friday opened fire on a third year student of the Nursing School in the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS), resultantly she sustained serious injuries. The PIMS spokesman said Zobia, 22, a 3rd year student of Nursing School, was on her way to the hostel when an unknown gunman opened fire on her as a result bullets pierced in her abdomen.
He said that the nurse was shifted to the emergency ward of the PIMS for treatment and the doctor said she was in critical condition. Police personnel rushed to the area soon after the incident, however, the assailant made good his escape from the crime scene. According to police, the incident seems to be result of some personal enmity.
