Technical And Vocational Training Authority (Tevta) will sign MoU with University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS) and Pakistan Poultry Association (PPA) to introduce demand driven short courses. The poultry related short courses will be introduced soon in co-operation with UVAS and Pakistan Poultry Association (PPA).
According to the spokesperson of the Tevta in this regard, a draft of MoU is being prepared by Tevta for finalising the details of co-operation among Tevta, UVAS and PPA.
It was stated by Chairperson TEVTA Irfan Qaiser Sheikh while addressing a meeting for launching short courses for Poultry Industry. Chief Operating Officer Jawad Ahmed Qureshi, General Manager (Academics) TEVTA Engr Azhar Iqbal Shad, Director R&D Dr Iftikhar Hussain Shah and others were also present on this occasion.
Irfan Qaiser Shaikh said that Poultry is a growing industry, catering to chicken food products demands across the country of Pakistan. Poultry Industry requires trained manpower. Starting of short courses related to this sector, initiated by TEVTA, will meet the requirement of shortage of manpower. This initiative will also promote poultry industry in Punjab.
Earlier, General Manager Academics Engr Azhar Iqbal Shad briefed the Chairperson TEVTA regarding meeting with member TEVTA board and owner of Big Birds Poultry Breeders Abdul Basit and Chairman Pakistan Poultry Association (PPA) North Zone Dr Mustafa Kamal and Vice Chancellor of University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS) Dr Talat Pasha to start demand driven short courses related to poultry industry.
General Manager Academics said that PPA would give its full support to launch these courses. The Vice Chancellor of UVAS had also given assurance that the university will send its students of Diploma in Poultry Assistant to TEVTA to receive multi-skills training suitable for poultry farms industry.
